Getting Close!

Hey everyone, it's been an eventful (not in a good way) week and I'd like to announce that not only do I work of Thanksgiving next week but I've been 'lucky' enough to get the day before off... which is my birthday... I'll be 20... so yeah. 

Anyways, Me-Mau had diarrhea really badly and was throwing up. Well we were super worried and rushed him to the Vet. Well I couldn't come because we were borrowing my Grandpa's 2 seat truck (my Dad was working on the car) well turns out he freaked out when the Vet went to check his temperature and ended up having him become feral. Which he has NEVER done before. He was trying to kill her pretty much. Well he ended up needing to be restrained, very hard and have a muzzle put on. He was given shots and had his nails clipped. He didn't have a fever but something was wrong.
Well he went 2 days without eating or drinking and just... well he seems off now. I don't know if it's just because he's sick or what but he's not the same. He's not that cat I saw leave the house. He won't clean himself properly, he will only eat/drink when we're not looking, he won't look us in our eyes and he just doesn't have the usual expression. He still purrs when you pet him, more then before actually, but he looks dead inside. 
My Mom thinks that being restrained broke him, that he's no longer the crazy kitty I fell in love with and the thought makes me break down in tears. 
I don't want a calm restrained cat I WANT MY ME-MAU! If he doesn't get out of this funk then I don't know what I'll do. I love him and I want him to be happy not be a caged animal. He's my baby and he filled the hole Casey left. I just need some animal guidance (D-SAD any advice for a poor first time ex-barn cat owner?)


Once he's feeling better I'm sure I'll perk up and I'll for sure feel better on my B-Day but I've been hella depressed lately and all this stuff has just been icing to the cake.
